English umpire Harmesh “Harry” Jutle has been selected to officiate at the World Championships in Doha, Qatar.

Harry is among only 22 umpires from all over the world, and one of seven Europeans, to have been selected for the blue riband event, which runs from 17-25 May.

The competition is the individual World Championships and is the final edition of the Worlds before London hosts the World Team Championships in 2026.

Harry said: “It was a pleasant surprise to be selected for the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships. I’m excited and looking forward to umpiring at this highly prestigious event and to be part of the officials team.” 

Andrew Wilesmith, Head of Development at Table Tennis England, said: “It’s fantastic to see Harry recognised as the world-class umpire he is, with a place at the World Championships.

“This continues the trend of our officials being present at the highest level of competition in the world and show that being at these events isn’t just an aspiration for our players but also our officials. Becoming an official opens the door to these opportunities.”
