Tin-Tin Ho missed out on a place in the main draw of the WTT Feeder Dusseldorf as she was beaten in a deciding game in qualifying.
Up against Anna Wegrzyn of Poland (WR 196) in the third and final qualifying round, Ho made a good start as she took the first 11-8, but Wegrzyn hit back by the same scoreline in the second and then took the third.
A run of five points by Ho, from 6-6, saw her take the fourth, but Wegrzyn was first to bring up match points in the decider and she took her first opportunity.
Ho (WR 153) had entered at the second qualifying round stage, where she beat Bernadett Balint of Hungary in four.
After the first two games had been shared, Ho won the third 11-5 and then took her second match point – either side of saving a Balint game point – in the fourth.
Ho is in the main draw of the Mixed Doubles and she and Edward Ly of Canada enter in the last 16. Their opponents are yet to be decided.
Paul Drinkhall is also competing in Dusseldorf and he will enter at the last 32 stage of the Men’s Singles, facing the winner of the tie in the previous round between Deni Kozul of Slovenia and China’s Liang Guodong.
