Donations from our members to help fund the grassroots of the sport have now reached an amazing £4,000.
A total of 570 members have now taken advantage of the introduction of a member donation option for the 2020-21 season when purchasing a membership.
Members have the option to select the areas they would like to support when making their donation and the amounts donated are as follows:
- Club development: £1,800
- Youth development: £1,200
- Covid recovery support: £890
- Talent & High Performance: £90
As a result of this generosity, funding support will be provided in the following areas:
- Funding of three TT Kidz programmes based in low socio-economic areas, providing an entry to the sport for those that may not have been able to afford it
- We will be providing four clubs with a 50% contribution to a defibrillator for their club venues
- We will be funding four clubs with small grants to help them start up their own Bat and Chat or Back to TT sessions
Table Tennis England Chair Sandra Deaton said: “Thank you to those who chose to add a donation to their membership this season – your support on top of your membership fees will have a significant impact to help grow table tennis and help make the sport safer for our participants.
“I am sure the recipients of these awards will be equally grateful and we will continue to provide updates on how these projects are going and the impact of these at a local level.”
If you have not yet renewed, you will have the option to make an extra donation when you do so. If you have already renewed, or for whatever reason do not intend to renew your membership currently but wish to make a donation, you can do so by clicking here.
