The Isle of Wight Table Tennis Association annual presentation evening is the Island’s social highlight of the year.

The Association comes together, away from table, bat and balls, for a social gathering to celebrate and to share in their table tennis achievements. Trophies were awarded for 25 different tournaments, both open and handicapped.

Alex Rorke, IoW Table Tennis Association Chairman, reports: “I congratulate all those who received awards. I mention, in particular, Ryan Cates, who received nine trophies and Pat Thorley, Tim Giles and Paul Rainford, who all won four, a magnificent achievement.

“It was also good to see some of our young players (cadets and juniors), Joe, Lewis, Jye and Thane who also won awards. We look forward to seeing them continue to improve and develop their game.

“Finally, as always, a big thank you to all those who assist and support IoW table tennis in any way throughout the year. It is much appreciated.”

The IoW Table Tennis Association was founded in 1923; placing it among the top 10 oldest Associations in England. Members now look forward to the start of the new season, with an encouraging number of new players joining the Winter League.
