Tom Jarvis had a confidence boost ahead of the European Team Championships, which start on Sunday, as he won the Halmstad Masters event over the weekend.
With a strong entry from the Swedish club landscape, Eslovs AI player Jarvis justified his top ranking as he finished on the top step of the podium.
He started with a routine 3-1 (11-6, 13-11, 10-12, 13-11) victory over Noah Lam Khai of Fokus BTK and then defeated Martin Froseth of the host club 3-0 (5, 9, 2).
There followed a dominant 3-0 (4, 1, 3) victory over Noa Dahlstrom of Halmstad and then, in the semi-finals, a 3-0 (9, 5, 8) triumph against Simon Arvidsson, also of Halmstad.
Anders Eriksson of Soderhamns awaited in the final and it was Jarvis’ toughest test, but he came through with a 3-2 ( 12-10, 11-8, 12-14, 9-11, 11-9) victory to take the title.
