The Cambridge Charity 4 star event last month raised an amazing £1,700 for the charity Wheelpower.

Wheelpower, based in Stoke Mandeville, supports and promotes participation in wheelchair sport at all levels, from first-timers to Paralympians.

Tournament Organiser Dan Bullen said: “I’m blown away with how much we have raised for a charity that is so close to my heart.

“I would like to pay tribute to everyone that supported the event and those umpires that gave up their expenses so Wheelpower would make more money.

“I could not have done this event without the help of Margaret Welch, who along with myself has worked non-stop on this event since August. We look forward to welcoming everyone back, for another charity 4 star in December.”

A spokesperson said: “We are extremely grateful to Dan and his team for organising the Cambridge Charity Junior 4* Table Tennis event which raised £1,700 for WheelPower.

“Thanks to everyone who took part, we will host a range of sport events and programmes which will provide Disabled People with opportunities to move more, play sport and lead active lives. We can’t thank Dan, the participants and the volunteers enough.”
