Radoslav Kamberov and Mollie Patterson were the major winners at the Gloucester Grand Prix over the weekend, winning Men’s and Women’s Singles respectively.
The fourth Grand Prix of the season saw more than 150 players competing, and there was a double victory in the women’s Bands for Aanchal Malhotra.
Men’s Singles
Fourth seed Radoslav Kamberov won the event with a 3-2 (14-12, 13-11, 4-11, 7-11, 14-12) victory over Louis Price, a scratch entry who had come through Group 1 in the absence of top seed Grigory Vlasov.
In the semi-finals, Kamberov held off a comeback by second seed Bogdan Postudor before getting over the line 3-2 (11-9, 11-9, 9-11, 10-12, 12-10). He also needed five in the quarter-finals, where he got past Ralph Pattison 3-2 (11-13, 11-8, 10-12, 11-9, 11-5).
Pattison himself had a terrific 3-2 (11-5, 12-14, 11-8, 9-11, 12-10) victory over Larry Trumpauskas in the last 16.
In the bottom half of the draw, Bristolian Price was a 3-1 (11-8, 11-5, 9-11, 11-7) winner over third seed Garry Dodd in the semi-finals.

Patterson was top seed and looking to go one better than she had at both the London and Preston Grands Prix earlier in the season.
Her run included victories in three straight in both the quarter and semi-finals, the latter against Aanchal Malhotra (10, 7, 8), before beating third seed Yu.
Yu had beaten second seed Linda Zeng in the semi-finals – the scoreline 3-0 (11-7, 11-6, 11-2).

Both semi-finals also went the distance – Mauthoor defeated David Ashwell with a fine comeback, taking it 3-2 (6-11, 6-11, 11-9, 11-7, 11-7), while Ayala overcame Sujay Jagannathan 3-2 (11-6, 11-8, 9-11, 5-11, 11-9).
