Sophie Earley and Yat Poon reached the knockout stage of the WTT Youth Contender Spa in Belgium.

Both got through in the under-19 girls’ singles – Earley with three wins from three in the group stage, but both went out in the last 64 – Poon to Earley’s fellow GB Junior Squad player Anna Hursey and Earley to Giulia Takahashi of Brazil, ranked two places below her at No 71. Mari Baldwin went out in the group stage.

Earley went one round better in the under-17s, reaching the last 32 where she lost to Zong Geman (WR 27) of China.

Hursey (WR 52) reached the quarter-finals in the under-19s, losing to eventual champion Qin Yuxuan of China, and also reached the last 16 of the under-17s.
