Another milestone women & girls’ tournament is fast approaching – including, for the first time, para classes.
The Sussex Women’s Summer 2* Singles, hosted by Worthing TTC, is the final such event of the season and follows recent women & girls’ tournaments in Sheffield and Durham.
The competition on Sunday June 16 includes Para Classes 1-5 for wheelchair users and Classes 6-10 for those with a standing disability.
These run alongside the ever-popular U13s, U15s U19s, Restricted (19-39) and Vets age categories and the afternoon Open Event.
Last year’s edition of the tournament saw entries from four countries and 14 counties and with this international trend set to continue there will be some fantastic play to see.
There are still places available, so click here to enter before the deadline on Friday June 7.
To offer a full weekend programme, the event will kick off with an all-female training session the evening before (Saturday June 15) at The Triangle with coach Matt Porter. Book your place by contacting Sally Hughes via [email protected] or 07837 406996.
If your club or county is interested in hosting an event next season, act now to get your date in the calendar – contact Sally for any questions or helpful hints.
Meanwhile, Worthing TTC is offering a ‘come and try’ session for Disabled People, free of charge.
It takes place on Saturday July 13 from noon until 2pm at Bohunt School in Worthing and will be run by qualified and DBS-checked coaches, with experience of working with Disabled People. All equipment will be provided.
