Marcel Ndongala and Lauren Maxwell are the two recipients of the Mike Watts Achievement Awards for the 2023/24 season.
Marcel, who represents Middlesex, added 661 ranking points to his tally over the course of the 2023/24 season, moving up from 372 on the Junior list at the start of last season to No 43 at the start of this.
Lauren, from Wiltshire, added 340 points to her tally last season, to sit in 50th position at the end of last season, up from 119th at the start of the season.
The award is given annually to the England-eligible girl and boy with the greatest improvements in Junior rankings points between August 1 and July 31 each year, not including the existing top 5 Juniors and top 5 Cadets.
The award is dedicated to Mike Watts, who was the ETTA Events Manager and a Vice-President and, among many other roles, was Director for the World Championships in Manchester in 1997 and an international umpire and national referee.
The Mike Watts Achievement Award was first presented in 2003 in his memory.
