The Crowdfunding Campaign for the New Table Tennis Club at  Lower Holker Village Hall is now Live!

The club at Lower Holker will enable us to offer table tennis to a new group of players of all ages as well as more sessions for existing players in the area.

We need to purchase six new tables plus other club equipment, undertake a lighting upgrade and kick start the new club with subsidised coaching sessions. The budget to set up the new club is £16,692 and we have made an excellent start in our fund-raising:

  • An award of £4,600 by Active Cumbria (recently received) enabled us to purchase the first three tables for Lower Holker, and thereby offer junior sessions there during the summer holidays. There are some sessions for adults too!
    • An award of £750 from the local Charles Godwin Foundation, which we will be able to put towards  our match funding target.
    • A number of pre-launch pledges, including £1,000 from Kendal & District Table Tennis League.

A match funding grant from Sport England of £4,750, but this award is only payable if we hit two targets:

    • Raise the same £4,750 amount through a crowdfunding campaign.
    • Ensure we have at least 50 unique donors making pledges on the crowdfunding website.

If we do not meet these two targets, any pledges made on the crowdfunding site fall away and we do not trigger payment of the Sport England award – so we now urgently need your help please by:

Making a donation on the crowdfunding website. Obviously, a large donation or any sized donation would be fantastic, but a donation of just £1.00 helps us meet our target of 50 unique supporters and effectively counts double as it will be matched by Sport England up to our target of £4,750

If you have more than one current account holder in your family, please make your donation as valuable as possible by spreading it across bank accounts to increase the number of “unique donors”. Please ensure a separate email address is used for each donor too

If we achieve this goal we will have raised a total of £14,100 and are then confident of gaining additional support from local businesses and parish council trusts to get to our overall budget objective of £16,692.

We hope to be able to raise more than our Lower Holker project target of £16,692. To celebrate our Club’s 50th Anniversary next year we have a “super stretch” target of £20,000. If we can get to this we can afford another two new tables for Natland as well as offering more subsidised coaching.

We would be extremely grateful for your support to help get the new club up and running.

    Thank you

    Yours Sincerely

    Peter
