A huge opportunity is presented for an exceptional candidate to lead and shape a portfolio of major international table tennis events to be staged in England.

Table Tennis England, International Table Tennis Federation and World Table Tennis, have joined forces through the setting up of a new company – TT International Events Ltd – which is set to be one of the most exciting major event partnerships in British Sport and across the world of table tennis.

One of the first roles to be recruited is a Director of Events. We are seeking an exceptional, dynamic, creative individual to work with TT International Events, the Stakeholder Boards, all key event partners and lead an outstanding team of staff and volunteers.

The successful candidate will shape and lead a unique and prestigious, world-class major international sport event portfolio, including the ‘jewel in the crown’ – the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships 2026 in London.

Table Tennis England Chief Executive Adrian Christy said: “Major events are a fundamental part of our Table Tennis United strategy as we seek to increase the visibility of table tennis, a greater profile for the sport and our athletes and a lasting impact for the sport and local communities.

“We are excited to be hosting our first ever WTT event in Manchester from 1-4 February this year and we are in discussions with other cities who share our vision and are keen to be part of this extraordinary journey.

“The Director of Events will be a senior leadership role, working very closely with the Boards of TT International Events Ltd, Table Tennis England and other stakeholders including commercial partners and broadcasters.”

Alongside this recruitment, the governance structure of the new company is being built, beginning with the recruitment of an independent Chair of the new company. In this next few weeks, we will also begin the process to recruit an independent Chair of the Stakeholder Board for the World Team Table Tennis Championships 2026, and once both Chairs are recruited, we will begin to build out the representation on both Boards.
