In recent weeks, Table Tennis England has sought to defend its published competition regulations through its disciplinary process.
The outcome of a recent hearing was in favour of the Respondent and Table Tennis England accepts the decision of the independent Panel and wishes to thank the panel members for their time and consideration of the matter.
As the National Governing Body, a fundamental part of our role is to establish regulations that enable us to uphold the governance and integrity of the organisation and the activities that we undertake, with the intention to promote growth, not stifle it.
With that in mind, the Board, at its last meeting on 14 August, asked that a working party be established to look into the purpose and implications of our regulations covering a number of competitions. The outcome of this review will be communicated to members in due course.
Table Tennis England does remain concerned about potential derogatory and defamatory remarks made about individual employees and the organisation through all forms of media. The organisation has a responsibility to protect the welfare of its employees and will not tolerate abusive behaviour and will continue to seek advice as to the appropriate course of action where it has such concerns.
