An eight-strong squad has been selected to represent England at the European School Games in Porec, Croatia, from 2-7 November.
The line-up includes plenty of experience at national and international level and the full squad is as follows.
Boys: Prayrit Ahluwalia, Max Radiven, Angad Saggu, Janak Shah (Non-Playing Captain Chris Cockburn); Girls: Eva Eccles, Sienna Jetha, Mia Lakhani, Catherine Lv (NPC Helen Lower).
The group travelling to Croatia is completed by Head of Delegation Gail Johns and umpire Paul Nichols.
The senior players in terms of experience are Max Radiven and Sienna Jetha (pictured above), who both have multiple appearances at European Youth Championships. Together, they are Under-17 Mixed Doubles national champions.
Radiven is also Under-17 Boys’ Open Singles national champion, as well as winning U21 Mixed Doubles gold (with Rachael Iles) and Junior Boys’ Open Doubles (with Rohan Dani), while Jetha has U21 Girls’ Doubles gold (with Ella Pashley) and Under-17 Girls’ Doubles gold (with Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska).
Several other members of the squad have national medals – Lv is Junior Girls’ Doubles champion (with Alyssa Nguyen), while Lakhani was Under-19 Girls’ National Series champion last season. Eccles has an Under-21 National Cup silver medal, while Ahluwalia and Shah both won bronzes at the Butterfly National Schools Individual Finals.
