Nicola Perry has been named Performance Coach of the Year at the Nottinghamshire Sports Awards.

University of Nottingham table tennis coach Nicola came out on top of a five-strong shortlist which included representation from badminton, football, swimming and gymnastics.

The awards were presented during a ceremony at the Nottingham Conference Centre this week.

Nicola said: “I am both delighted and honoured to be the recipient of this prestigious award. My sincere thanks go to the judging panel.

“Nothing could be achieved without the continual immense support from the University of Nottingham sports department which allows the elite delivery of performance coaching in pursuit of global success.”

Meanwhile, further awards success is being celebrated in the south west, where Joola Plymouth TTV were named Community Club of the Year at the Plymouth Herald Sports Personality of the Year awards.
