Emily Bates who is still a cadet played exceptionally well taking several good scalps to win the Junior Girls consolation event in the ITTF Global Junior Circuit in Poland.

Emily lost to Anna Krieghoff (Germany) European junior number 17 the 5th set in the main draw and then continued her good form in the consolation event and had the following wins. In round 1 against Tomanovska (CZE) 3-2,

Round 2 Deiker (NED) 3-0, round 3 Huda (SWE) 3-1, Semi Final – Ivakhina (RUS) 3-2. In the final Emily continued to show strength of character and confidence in tight situations to win 3-1 against Rakovac (HRV).

Hopefully Emily will continue this good form in the Junior team event where she will team up with Chloe Whyte & Yolanda King to face Sweden & Poland A in the group stages.

Chloe Whyte also had a good junior event qualifying for the main event after a good win against Sandra Wabik (Poland) European cadet number 4 before losing to Yui Sato (Japan).

David McBeath won his Group in impressive style and progressed to the second round before falling to number 2 seed Romain Lorentz  (France).
