It is all systems go for the Mark Bates Ltd Cadet & Junior National Championships.

Subject to the Government roadmap out of restrictions proceeding as expected, the tournament will take place at the University of Warwick on the weekend of 10-11 July.

The decision has been made in line with our stop/go and cancellation policy for national events. Covid protocols such as social distancing, hygiene and venue capacity are likely to be in place in line with Government guidance at the time.

Singles competitions will be held for boys and girls in both age groups – the Junior age group is now under-19 in line with recent changes at international and domestic levels.

It is planned to include doubles events – for Cadet boys and girls and Junior boys, girls and mixed – but this will be dependent on Covid advice at the time.

Invitations will go to the top 28 in the rankings, plus four wildcards, in each category. Invitations for Cadets will be based on the current list and for Juniors on the July 2020 list (to reflect the move to Under-19).

No ranking points will be awarded and Compete membership will be accepted for entrants – there is no need to upgrade to Compete Plus this season.

Full details about the event format and eligibility will be available in the entry form and prospectus, which will be published on this website shortly.
