Ramsden Reds take over from Ramsden Renegades

Ramsden Renegades, the early leaders in the first division of the Central Essex Summer League were well beaten by Writtle A. Ramsden Renegades’s challenge for the title faltered again and it looks like they will finish third. They were beaten 5-0 by Elmtree Excalibur A. Gary Cattermole and Peter Mynard were both undefeated on this occasion.

The new leaders Ramsden Reds also won 5-0. Charles Sweeney and Andrew Halling were both undefeated as they beat Chelmsford. Ramsden Reds enjoyed a closer 3-2 victory over Rayne. Writtle B were convincing 5-0 winners against Cold Norton B in Division Three. Dave Moles and Frank Neill were both undefeated. Leaders Ramsden Rovers also won 5-0. In the closest game of the evening Gareth Davies beat Valerie Board by the odd-looking scoreline of 3-2 (1-11, 11-4, 10-12, 11-8, 11-9). Writtle B defeated Ramsden Rovers 3-2.
