Competition Review points up changes to Nationals

Phase 1 of Table Tennis England’s Competition Review has been completed and the results can now be announced.

The review includes new formats for the three National Championships, including changes to the age brackets to create an U10-U13 Nationals.

The Senior and Cadet & Junior Nationals will also feature demonstration team events next season, plus seven-set matches at certain stages.

Among the other changes are the replacement of the Cadet Masters and Junior Masters events with the Cadet & U12 National Cup and the Junior National Cup, played to a new format.

Regional Championships and Inter-Regional Championships are also being introduced and there will be an increase in the number of 4*, 2* and 1* events across all levels and across the country.

Looking ahead to season 2016/17, the Senior British League Premier Division will feature home and away fixtures.
