The beginning of Day 2 see’s the groups stages being played out in both the men’s and women’s singles as well as the majority of the action in the mixed doubles

Mixed Doubles

The action in the mixed doubles has been fast and furious, with the favourites of Drinkhall/Parker and Knight/Sibley still in the fight, being joined by Reed/Reynolds and Doran/Hicks in the semi’s happening later today.

Knight/Sibley are the only pairing to keep a clean sheet progressing to the semi’s off the back of a sweep of 3-0 victories, with Parker and Drinkhall have the next best record, having dropped only one to Yeung/Graham.

This afternoons semi-finals will see Drinkhall/Parker v Reed/Reynolds and Knight/Sibley v Doran/Hicks.

Men’s Singles Groups

Play pretty much followed the form book during the group stage with only 5 groups seeing someone other than the top seed progress.

Women’s  Singles Groups

There were six upsets in the women’s groups, three of which were caused by the lowest seeds coming out on top, Tressa Armitage, Charlotte Binley and Lucy Davidson, who played well yesterday in the U21’s, making it all the way to the semi-finals.
