Tom Jarvis bowed out of the Belarus Open tonight against a player ranked more than 100 places above him.

The teenager was beaten 4-1 by Tomas Konecny of the Czech Republic, who at No 121 in the world is ranked 112 places above Jarvis.

The Englishman won a close first game but his opponent levelled by the same 12-10 scoreline and then pulled away in the next three games to win their last-64 clash.

Jarvis is next in action for England against Serbia at Medway Park on Tuesday.
