The 2015-16 season will see a major new regional competition for young players introduced to the Table Tennis England calendar.

The exciting two-tier competition will first see each region run a Regional Closed Championships for Under-11, Under-13 and Cadet singles, for both girls and boys.

This will be held on February 20 and 21, 2016, and athletes ranked in the top 20 boys and top 15 girls on the Table Tennis England rankings one month before that will not be eligible.

The second phase will be the Inter-Regional Championships, to be held on May 21 and 22, 2016.

This will feature teams in all six events, nominated by each region after the Regional Closed events. They will then compete in both team and singles events.

These new competitions were introduced following recommendations by the Competition Review group and replace the regional qualifying tournaments for the age group National Championships.
