Judy Rogers and Ken Dullaway in action in Hastings

On Saturday July 4, businesses and traders in the America Ground area of Hastings held an American Festival supported by the local Rotary Club.

Taking centre stage next to the live bands was table tennis with Table Tennis England’s Judy Rogers and Street Games’ Ken Dullaway leading the way.

Hundreds of people visited the area during the day and the table was in constant use from lunchtime until early evening. There were an impressive amount of chops and spins going on from everyone, many of whom had not picked up a bat since they left school.

The table, belonging to Holy Trinity Church, will be making another appearance on July 16 in Queen’s Square, Hastings, for #TableTennisDay, when both the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Hastings will be doing the longest serve challenge.
