Competitors at the Scunthorpe 1* later this month could be battling for a share of £1,000.

Tournament organiser Andy Kelly is aiming for the four-figure prize fund – but needs to reach the minimum target of 48 entries first.

The prize would be a significant increase on the £670 fund at September’s corresponding tournament.

All players are guaranteed a minimum of 7 matches at the event, on Saturday January 31.

There is a full range of events including boys and girls’ singles, intermediates (over-18 and under-40), ladies, vets, men and the unique prizefighter event.
