A national table tennis tournament is being organised for NHS staff to mark the health service’s 70th anniversary.

The tournament will be held on Sunday, 23 September, at the Draycott Table Tennis Centre in Derby.

All NHS staff past and present are invited to sign up to take part in the competition.

Tournament organiser Rob Ridge said: “Over the lifetime of the NHS, table tennis has been a popular pastime for many staff, both in training and working within the NHS. As the UK’s largest employer, I’m sure there are many past and present NHS employees who still play table tennis competitively.

“So, as part of this year’s NHS 70th Anniversary Celebrations, we are organising a national tournament and, all being well, it will become an annual event.”
