The respective 2012/13 Under 21s National Champions, Tin-Tin Ho and Sam Walker were unable to continue their blinding form after running into difficult matches during the French Open.

Tin-Tin, winner of the Women’s Under 21s, was beaten at the semi-final stage of the Cadet Singles after running into the top seed Minnie Soo Wai Yam (HKG). It meant she was unable to defend her title from 2012 but the youngster maintained her reputation on the world stage – especially after such a busy recent schedule.

Walker was also unlucky in his pursuit of glory as, despite winning his group convincingly, he was drawn against the fourth seed Joao Geraldo (POR) in the last 32 where he lost in five games.

Also during the tournament, the three English teams in action, Junior Boys, Cadet Boys and Cadet Girls all made it to the quarter-finals of their respective events.
