England’s star cadet Tin-Tin Ho has reached the top of the European Cadet rankings for the first time this April.

The 14-year-old from Paddington overtook Marie Migot from France on the European rankings, which are determined by the ITTF’s World rankings following her combined performances over the past 12 months.

Although she was disappointed to finish second in the Cadet Open at Malta last weekend, her consistency over the year, including two semi-finals at Hodonin (CZE) and Metz (FRA) have taken her to the summit.

Tin-Tin now leads a strong quintuplet of European stars as they attempt to break the Asian stranglehold on the sport. Alongside Migot, the Romanian pair of Adina Diaconu (3) and Andreea Clapa (4), and the Russian Maria Malanina (5), the future looks bright for Europe.

Her rankings rise has also seen her break the top ten in the world rankings for the first time in 9th place.

Her next engagement for England will be the Commonwealth Championships in India (5-10th May) where she will try and help England to achieve their first gold medal since Matthew Syed in 2001.
