Plans for an umpires reunion are in the pipeline so if you’re an official, past or present, make your presence known ahead of the 2013/14 Senior National Championships in Sheffield.

At the 2013 AGM of the Association of English Table Tennis Umpires (AETTU) Tony Chatwin, President of the Association, discussed the possibility of a reunion dinner for umpires – past and present. Members at the AGM discussed the subject and agreed in principle with the suggestion.

Tony has discussed the idea further with Colin Clemett and Richard Scruton and it has been suggested that a reunion dinner could take place on the Saturday evening to coincide with the Senior National Championships at Sheffield on 1st – 3rd March 2014.

A quote has been obtained from the Metropolitan Hotel in Sheffield, close to Ponds Forge, for Dinner, Bed and Breakfast at the following prices:

Single Room £57pn
Double/Twin £96pn
Triple £126pn

Tony is also looking at the possibility of including entry to the Championships on Sunday as part of the package. (This has not yet been agreed).

Take up will be open to all current and retired umpires. If you are interested in attending the reunion please use the contact details below. If you know of any retired umpires who may be interested but don’t have access to a computer can you please contact them and see if they are interested in attending the reunion as well.

All replies should be sent to [email protected] before the deadline of Sunday 19th January 2014.
