Table Tennis England has teamed up with Sport England Club Matters to offer table tennis clubs a series of virtual workshops.

Given the latest Government guidance, Club Matters have adapted their suite of face-to-face workshops to deliver engaging sessions to Clubs through ‘virtual classrooms’.

The details of the upcoming sessions are as follows:

Developing a Marketing Strategy – Tuesday July 14, 2-4pm

By the end of this workshop, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the key principles of a club marketing strategy
  • Describe how to develop a marketing strategy using a simple framework
  • Identify different marketing channels to maximise exposure
  • Understand how to effectively monitor and evaluate their marketing strategy

Volunteer Experience – Tuesday July 21, 2-4pm

By the end of this workshop, delegates will be able to:

  • Develop a positive culture of volunteering within a club environment
  • Identify how to develop the volunteer’s experience
  • Identify top tips in recruiting, retaining and rewarding volunteers
  • Develop an action plan to improve their club volunteer experience
  • Understand how to access further information to help improve the volunteer experience

Participant Experience – Tuesday July 28, 2-4pm

By the end of this workshop, delegates will be able to:

  • Identify what constitutes a great participant experience
  • Review their current participant experience
  • Identify how to bring about change to positively influence the participant experience
  • Develop an action plan and understand how to access further support.

The workshops are free to attend, and places are limited to 12 people per workshop. Spaces will be granted on a first come first served basis, but limited to two spaces per club/league. If demand for the workshops is high, Table Tennis England will look to work with Club Matters to organise additional sessions.

Delegate access requirements (click to expand)

In order to ensure a positive learning environment and a smooth start to the workshop, learners are required to:

  • Have access to Wi-Fi
  • Have access to a laptop or tablet. A smart phone device is acceptable but functionality for interactive elements of the workshop is limited. Therefore, a laptop or tablet is strongly recommended
  • The device must have access to a microphone as the workshop will be interactive
  • State if they have any additional learning requirements ahead of the workshop via the registration process. This allows us to make appropriate provisions to ensure content is accessible
  • Be willing to contribute to discussions and activities
  • Have access to an environment with limited distractions which is conducive to learning
  • Log into the virtual classroom ahead of the workshop (10 minutes ahead of time if possible)
  • It is also recommended that learners have access to a webcam. This allows us to build rapport with delegates. This is desirable and not an essential item
