Sam Walker was knocked out in the last 16 of the Belgium Open, ending English involvement in the tournament in De Haan.

Walker, the 15th seed, took the first game against Germany’s world No 161 Qiu Dang but then saw his opponent reel off the next four to go through to the quarter-finals.

Walker is next in action at the Sweden Open, which starts on Monday. Liam Pitchford, Paul Drinkhall, Tom Jarvis and Andrew Baggaley are also in the field.
