Staff at Premier League football club West Ham United got into the spirit of National Table Tennis Day by running their own event on the concourse at Upton Park.

With the players busy touring New Zealand on their pre-season, the staff were left to their own devices to ensure the competitive edge remained in East London. Organised by Marjorie Dawson, there were 25 players who took part in the event while Joey Kennedy was also on hand to offer an exhibition.

Dawson said: “We had about 25 people try out table tennis on the concourse of West Ham United Football Club, A great day was had by all and they all want to do it again.”
