Twins Anna and Connor Green will spearhead the English Schools’ Table Tennis Association squad at the Primary Schools’ International Championships.

With other members of the teams, they will play against players from Guernsey, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Scotland and Wales in this annual fixture to be played at the Sport Wales National Centre, Cardiff, from April 7-9.

Anna and Connor, both from Chetwynd Primary Academy (Nottingham) are joined by Katie Bates, Bankfields Primary School (Cleveland), Harry Derecki, Ashburnham Community School (London Central), Toby Ellis, Great Wood Primary School (Lancashire), Lucy Gent, St Bernadette’s Primary School (Cleveland), Saskia Key, Amherst School (Kent) and Adam Szabo, St Alban’s CE Primary School (South Yorkshire). Teresa Bennett and Dave Pilkington are the Non-Playing Captains.

Ireland are the present holders of both the Boys’ and Girls’ Team Championships.

The Senior Schools’ Invitation International Championships for Under 18/16/14 – boys’ and girls’ teams are to be held from June 23-25 2017 in Jersey. The English Schools’ Table Tennis Association will be selecting teams of four players to compete in each event.

To be eligible for consideration, a player must have played during the present season in either the Team or Individual ESTTA Championships. A County Secretary may also nominate a player who has played in a schools’ qualifying competition leading up to the above championships.

We wish the Primary Schools’ squad every success and look forward to the next ESTTA events – the Butterfly Schools’ Team Championship Finals to be held at Hinckley Leisure Centre on March 25 and the Butterfly Schools’ Individual Championship Finals to be held at Aldersley Leisure Village on April 29.
