86 hopeful youngsters will be competing over three days in the 2015 Sainsbury’s School Games, representing England Midlands, England North East, England North West, England South East, England South West, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The Sainsbury’s 2015 School Games is a multi-sport event that takes place from 3-6 September 2015 in Manchester for the UK’s elite young athletes of school age. The event seeks to create an inspirational and motivational setting that not only provides elite young sports people with the opportunity to thrive and perform at the highest levels, but encourages more young people to take part and succeed in sport.

Newcomer to the School Games, Denise Payet is looking to impress in Manchester this year. The 14-year-old from Enfield is already the number one U15 player and Cadet and Junior National Table Tennis Champion. This year she will be lending her talents to last year’s winning team, England South East.

Joining Denise on the England South East team is 16-year-old Luke Savill. The rising star from Maidstone has been selected to play at the European Youth Championships for the last three years. He made the semi-finals of the School Games last year and will be hoping to better that when he returns to Manchester in September.

Bedford College student Daniel Bullen is another familiar face. The 17-year-old from Cambridgeshire is ranked 35 in the world and third in Great Britain, making him one to look out for at the Regional Tennis Arena this year. In 2014 he claimed silver in the singles of the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation World Junior Games and helped his team clinch gold. This year at the School Games Daniel aims to help England Midlands bag another team win.

Leading the way for England North East is 18-year-old Adam Gittings from Doncaster. The experienced Junior National Champion will make his School Games debut in September and will be looking to make an impression at the arena.

Stourbridge table tennis ace Charlotte Bardsley went from beginner to national champion in under two years. The 13-year-old Heathfield student, who is ranked number one for her age group, will be looking to bring home the gold for England Midlands in Manchester.

This year the promising young athletes will be mentored by double European and Commonwealth Games medallist Nicola Perry.
