Nominations are open for an awards scheme which could earn a £1,000 bonus for table tennis clubs and organisations which are the heartbeat of their communities.

The 2017 Community Sport and Recreation Awards, run by the Sport & Recreation Alliance (SRA), are looking for those clubs, organisations and initiatives who are doing truly great work in their local communities.

The SRA is looking for organisations that provide youngsters with a pathway from playgrounds to active adulthood, clubs that make sure that their helpers and volunteers are supported and encouraged to keep developing. Our category winners will be a perfect advert for how the sport and recreation sector enriches lives and communities.

There are five categories and entry is free! The categories are: Added Social Value Award; Volunteering Award; Mental Health Award; Innovation Project Award; and Professional Community Programme of the Year Award;

Each category winner will receive £1,000 to help boost their work. The deadline for entries is Sunday April 30.
