A £1,000 grant has boosted Letchworth club KLM going into the new season.

The club, which has four teams in the North Herts League, has received the grant from the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation.

It will enable them to buy new tables to improve their sessions at St Michael’s Parish Hall. Sessions take place every Monday between September and March, from 7.30pm.

Club secretary and founder Dave Saunders said the new tables would replace second-hand ones which the club obtained from other venues.

He added: “We’re very grateful for the grant. We’re going from three mediocre tables to three smart tables, and progressing the club. We’ve increased from two teams to four and have several social members as well.”

The club’s first session of the new season is on September 5. For more information, please call Dave on 01462 674978.
