A strong OCs A side made a winning start to the Season in the first division of the Chelmsford & District Table Tennis League by beating promoted Danbury B 7-3. Peter Hayden, returning after a one-year’s absence stayed undefeated for OCs but it was Steve Buer whose results really stood out. He beat both Terry Dowsett and Brandon Crouchman. Charles Sweeney picked up the third
Danbury win. It was a good one as well, with Charles defeating Terry Dowsett 11-5, 11-6, 8-11, 9-11, 11-9.

Promoted Elmtree Excalibur B are expected to do well in division two. They made a good start to the Season by beating ECC C 7-3. Gus Heath won his three singles and his hat-trick included a fine 11-6, 18-16, 11-6 win over James Hicks, who won twice for the County Council team.
