The English qualifying process for the 2017 World Championship of Ping Pong has been revealed.

BATTS Table Tennis Club in Harlow will host the qualifying tournament on Saturday January 21, from 10am.

The event is open to players who were born in England and those of other nationalities who permanently reside in England and have not played in their home country qualifier.

The entry fee is £25 and, under WCPP rules, a minimum of 60 players are required to compete in this event to guarantee two qualification spaces for the WCPP finals.

A few days later, on Wednesday January 25, BATTS also hosts the Last Chance Saloon, starting at 9am.

The event is open to players who have not already qualified for the WCPP 2017 finals, who are in the top 50 in the ping pong ranking list and who have played in a WCPP qualifying event this season.

The tournament format will be Groups of 5 – 8 depending on the number of players participating, followed by knockout, with a minimum of four guaranteed qualification spaces for the WCPP finals. Entry is again £25.

On Thursday January 26, the WCPP World Masters will take place at Ellenborough Table Tennis Club in Enfield from 5.30pm (entry fee £25).

This event is open to the players who have qualified for the WCPP 2017 finals. Those who have previously played in the WCPP may apply.

There will be restrictions on player numbers. For this reason, priority will be given to players participating in WCPP2017.

Tournament format will be Groups of 5 – 8 depending on the number of players participating, followed by knockout.

The WCPP finals take place at Alexandra Palace on the weekend of January 28-29.
