League leaders Ormesby are showing no signs of feeling the heat of the Senior British League Clubs Premier Division title fight after decimating Drumchapel Glasgow 7-0.
This was as dominant a victory as you will ever see, with the Cleveland-based outfit not dropping a single end on their way to the sixth straight victory of the season. Ormesby were strong favourites going into this, though nobody would have anticipated them getting through completely unscathed.
Drumchapel, in fairness, were without Aaron McKibbin and Danny Bajwa, and Ormesby had their regular starting side out, making life all the more difficult.
Jose Enio Mendes and David McBeath raced out of the traps, beating Victor Guang Shi and Rhoari Rowan in comfortable fashion. The same Drumchapel pair combined as they went down in the doubles to McBeath and Ben Piggott, albeit, they did threaten despite the 3-0 scoreline.
Likewise, Guang Shi will feel he could have gotten more rewards for his efforts against McBeath, more than troubling the international in three tight ends.
But Piggott was largely comfortable against Martin Perry before quickly returning to defeat Rowan, dropping just 13 points. Mendes was even more emphatic as he saw out the whitewash during his win over Perry.
Ormesby know they will have bigger challenges ahead, but they appear to be in mean form right now.
