Four English players qualified through the group stage of the singles at the European Youth Championships in Poland, joining three compatriots who were seeded straight through.

Isaac Kingham (pictured above) won all three of his Cadet Boys’ Singles matches without dropping a game, against opponents from Cyprus, Sweden and Norway.

He is joined in the main draw by Rohan Dani, who finished as runner-up in his group with victories over opponents from Estonia and Israel and defeat to a Greek athlete.

Kingham and Ralph Pattison are seeded into the last 64, while Dani will play Gianni Koutra of Greece in the round of 128.

In the Cadet Girls, Ella Pashley and Naomi Coker each won one of three group matches and did not go through to the knockout stage. Sienna Jetha is seeded through to the last 64.

In the Juniors, England narrowly missed a clean sweep – Connor Green is already seeded into the knockouts and was joined by Louis Price, but Ben Piggott missed out on countback by a single point.

Piggott won two of his three group matches but ended in a three-way tie with Greek and Austrian athletes, who both got the verdict ahead of the Stockton man.

Price went through as a group runner-up and faces 20th seed Miguel Pantoja of Spain in the round of 128. Green will play Andrej Milosevic of Montenegro.

Mari Baldwin won two of her three matches, against opponents from Malta and Latvia, to go through as runner-up. She will play Eugenia Sastre of Spain in the round of 128.

Erin Green won her first match, against an athlete from Luxembourg, but could not get the all-important second victory, while Anaya Patel was defeated by opponents from Sweden, North Macedonia and Portugal.

In the Junior Mixed Doubles, Piggott & Erin Green went safely through the first round, but Price & Patel and Baldwin and Welsh partner Rhys Hetherton went out.
