Liam Pitchford was defeated in a deciding set as he bowed out of the WTT Contender Nova Gorica in Slovenia.

He was up against world No 77 Feng Yi-Hsin of Chinese Taipei and started quickly, winning the first six points of the match on his way to taking the first 11-5.

Feng hit back by the same scoreline in the second and Pitchford then had a game point to go back in front in the third, only to lose it 12-10.

Pitchford levelled, overcoming a wobble when he saw an 8-3 lead pegged back to 8-8, taking the fourth 11-9, but he fell behind in the decider and was never able to get close enough as his opponent won it 11-7.
