Liam Pitchford romped into the quarter-finals of the WTT Star Contender Bangkok with a three-straight victory over world No 12 Quadri Aruna.

Pitchford took a narrow first game against the fifth seed 13-11, but then imposed himself on the match to take the next two with increasing ease.

He will face third seed Lin Gaoyuan of China in the quarter-finals after he defeated Wong Chun Ting of Hong Kong in the last 16.
