Kacper Piwowar and Connor Green reached the knockout rounds in two age groups at the WTT Youth Contender Wladyslawowo in Poland, with Piwowar going on to reach a quarter-final.

Piwowar’s quarter-final was in the under-13s, where he was defeated by Italy’s Francesco Trevisan, who went on to win the competition.

In the under-15s, Piwowar (pictured above) and Ralph Pattison both made the main draw, Pattison by winning his group. They both advanced to the last 16, where their runs ended – Piwowar at the hands of the second seed, Aditya Sareen of Australia.

Abraham Sellado also went through in the under-15s but was knocked out in the round of 64. He won one of three group matches in the under-13s, which was not enough to make it through.

Green went through in both the under-17 and under-19 age groups and also won his first knockout match in each category before his runs came to an end in the round of 32.

In the under-17s, Larry Trumpauskas and Jakub Piwowar both won all their group matches – Piwowar was knocked out in the last 64 and Trumpauskas in the last 32. Pattison went out in the groups, losing two of his three matches in a decider.

Trumpauskas, Jakub Piwowar and Ben Piggott went out in the group stage of the under-19s.

In the under-19 girls’ event, Yat Poon won her group and was then knocked out in the last 32 by a Chinese opponent.
