Roystons TTC is a pay as you play club affiliated to the Reigate, Redhill and District Table Tennis League (RRDTTL)

The membership consists of 120 adults of whom approximately 80 % play in the league and 32 Juniors.

Several senior players have used it a route back into TT, one said “I am one of those who started to get back into TT through a local community club, I had played a lot when I was at school (over 50 years ago) but it was joining Roystons that offered me the chance to get involved with the league. It introduced me to better players which improved my game and other opportunities to play”

One of our members who recently got to the semi-finals of the European veterans (narrowly losing to the eventual winner) is an expert on bats and is always prepared to offer advice to players on the best rubbers to use and make up bats to suit.

At the other end of the age range six junior players, aged from 13 to 17, have progressed to joining the local league, one of whom is giving a good account of himself in the first division. This is feedback from one of them.  

“I first went to Roystons in October 2021 when I was 14 years old because I wanted to meet people with similar interests and develop my skills in table tennis. Here I was able to regularly exercise whilst participating in a game that I really enjoy. In January 2024 I started formal training with a friend as part of my Duke of Edinburgh award scheme. Peter showed us the correct strokes, footwork and service techniques on a table set aside for training. After a while I progressed to general play with the senior players and my game quickly improved so much that I played in my first league match in October winning 2 of my 3 games”.

Also several established league players are bringing their sons and daughters for training.

Roystons runs at the Horley Leisure Centre Anderson Way, Horley RH6 8SP every Monday (except Bank holidays) from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

There are 9 ITTF approved Cornilleau 740 tables (which are wheelchair compatible) purchased in 2018 replacing ex tournament tables that had been used from the inception of the club in 2001.
