Abraham Sellado & Kacper Piwowar reached the Under-15 Boys’ Doubles semi-finals at WTT Youth Star Contender Tunis, losing to the top seeds and eventual champions.

The English pair beat two Tunisian pairs to get to the last four, but were well beaten by Italians Danilo Faso & Francesco Trevisan, who dominated the competition and won gold.

In the Under-15 Boys’ Singles, third seed Sellado (pictured above), who is No 185 on the Junior list, reached the quarter-finals where he was defeated by Albin Ingestrom of Sweden (WR 327). Piwowar (WR 202) got to the last 16, going out to Faraz Shakiba of Iran (WR 280).

Tianer Yu was unlucky to miss out on the knockout phase as she finished third in her group on a three-way countback, despite picking up a brilliant win over world No 18 Junior Nina Guo Zheng of France.

Defeat to Josephina Neumann (WR 41) was ultimately the result which cost Yu (WR 149), who also went out in the first round of the U19 Mixed Doubles as she and Scotland’s Gavin Yuan lost to second seeds Artur Gromek & Natalia Bogdanowicz of Poland.
