Entries to the Topspin Nottingham Senior 4* Open are now being taken as more competition opportunities for Senior players are added to the calendar.

The tournament is the second Senior 4* Open of this season – and the first of 2025/26, in Sussex, has also now been added to the competition calendar.

This is in addition to the Satellite events in Jersey and Wrexham in the coming weeks.

Senior 4* Opens were introduced to the landscape by the implementation of the Competition Review. They are two-day events which typically provide Banded competition on day one and Open Singles competitions on day two in Men’s Singles and Women’s singles, Under-21s, Veterans and 21-40 Restricted categories, ensuring that players are able to play in a number of events over the weekend.

Jason Ramage, organiser of the Nottingham Senior 4* Open at Nottingham Trent University, said: “I think it’s going to be a really good event and I’m hoping it will be a full house – being in the centre of the country, it’s going to be quite big.”

Jason said the 21-table event on 21-22 June should include up to 21 Men’s Singles groups and 10 Women’s Singles groups, though the format is flexible to add more if other events are under-subscribed. The Veteran and Restricted categories are mixed, while there are men’s and women’s sections in the Under-21s.

There is prizemoney in every category, with the total prize pot standing at £2,300. Play is due to begin at 8.30am on each day, finishing at 6pm on the Saturday and 7pm on the Sunday.

The Nottingham event follows on the heels of the Cleveland Senior 4* in May. Entries are currently open for that event and for the Jersey Satellite in April (entries close on Monday) and the Wrexham Satellite in May. Click below to access entry forms.

We also know the date of the first Senior Open of 2025/26 – it will be the weekend of 13-14 September in Sussex. Entry details will appear on this website in due course.

Discussions are under way with other prospective Tournament Organisers in other parts of the country to deliver more Senior 4* Opens. Anyone interested in organising an event of this level please contact Neil Rogers.
