Maliha Baig won two golds and England posted a 1-2-3 in the Cadet Boys’ Singles event at the Ulster Open.
Baig claimed her golds in the Junior and the Cadet Girls’ Singles, while Isaac Kingham led the clean sweep in the Cadet boys, defeating Joseph Dennison 3-1 in the final, with Harry Randall taking a bronze.
Saskia Key was runner-up in the Women’s Singles, being defeated by Ulster’s Sophie Earley in the final, while Kingham also won a bronze in the Junior Boys’ Singles. Key added a bronze in the Juniors, losing out 17-15 in the fifth in the semi-finals.
England also took on an Ulster squad in a team event and won 29-6, with Kingham and Nathaniel Saunders both winning all five of their matches. Dennison, Krish Chotai and Jake Haygarth won four each and Randall three. Baig and Key won both their singles matches but lost the doubles as the girls contributed a 4-1 scoreline to the overall result. For Ulster, Tom Colvin won four matches.
