The British Para table tennis team took five medals against strong opposition in the doubles events on the final day of the ITTF SQY French Para Open in Saint Quentin en Yvelines.

Tokyo medallist Megan Shackleton combined with Flora Vautier from France to win gold in the women’s class 5-10 doubles on the final day of the Finland Para Open in Pajulahti today and 13-year-old Bly Twomey took bronze in the women’s class 20 doubles with her Italian partner Elena Elli.

Teenager Bly Twomey followed her European Championship bronze medal last month by taking silver in the women’s class 7 singles at the Finland Para Open, while Megan Shackleton took bronze in the women’s class 3-5 singles.

Three doubles bronzes for GB in Slovenia
On the final day of the ITTF Slovenia Para Open in Lasko the British team won three bronze medals in the doubles events. Will Bayley and Martin Perry took bronze in men’s class 14, Ashley Facey and Joshua Stacey took bronze in men’s class 18 and Jack Hunter-Spivey and Megan Shackleton took bronze in mixed class 10.
