The Isle of Wight TTA squad will be aiming to put on a good show in the association’s centenary year when they compete at the International Island Games next month.

The team certainly looks the part in the specially designed kit for the event, which begins in Guernsey on July 8.

Pictured are (front, from left) Pat Thorley, Elaine Mills and Anna Joyce and (back, from left) Hugh Idle, Glenn Morley (coach), Scott Lawson and Danny Burns (captain).

Two other team members, Temeesha Hobbs and George Downing, are not pictured.

Isle of Wight General Secretary Peter Clarke reports: “This is a strong team. They have been committed to practice sessions and they will be hoping to raise the profile of Isle of Wight Table Tennis in the association’s centenary year.”

The International Island Games is held every two years, but this will be the first edition since 2019 because of the pandemic. The last edition was held in Gibraltar and saw around 2,000 competitors from 22 islands or island groups compete in 14 sports.
