The Olympic Fanzone at Cabot Circus in Bristol has a relaxed vibe set in the beautiful Quakers Friar which has shaded seating, a water feature and places to pick up yummy refreshments. The Fanzone includes a large screen as well as table tennis tables. It will be in place throughout the summer to the Paralympics closing ceremony. It was launched on Friday 26th July with the help of Louis Price, England International who played locally as a youngster and is now playing full time in Germany.

“It’s clear table tennis has huge potential in the SW, coupled with the buzz around the Olympics, with kids of all ages playing throughout the day – It was a pleasure to see”

Louis Price talking about the launch

Special thanks to Louis who demonstrated his talents, ran a beat the pro challenge and gave top tips to members of the public as well as local players. It was such good fun Louis popped back on Monday.

Thanks you to Chris Price for representing Table Tennis England at the event.

Coffee, cake, watching the Olympics and a game or two of table tennis – what could be better? Yet more evidence that table tennis can be played anywhere and enjoyed by anyone. The Fanzone is creating a real buzz, a hit with new and established players which is fantastic to see.
