Do you know someone who has helped to get underrepresented groups into table tennis in the last year? Why not nominate them for the Level The Table Award in this years Pride of Table Tennis Awards?
The Level the Table Award, previously known as the Inclusivity Award, is given to an individual or organisation for outstanding volunteering with underrepresented groups such as women and girls, Disabled People or ethnically diverse communities in table tennis over the past 12 months.
The new name reflects the importance of our five-year Diversity & Inclusion Strategy, Level the Table, which is designed to tackle inequality in table tennis.
Community Integrated Care picked up the 2021 award for their support of almost 200 care services to access table tennis starter packs during the early months of the coronavirus pandemic, helping to keep people physically and mentally stimulated during lockdown.
Community Integrated Care developed a unique free training programme which not only teaches people the fundamental skills to play table tennis, but also looks at the many ways that the sport can be adapted and used to promote health, happiness and confidence.
Director of Partnerships and Communities at Community integrated Care, John Hughes, said: “We were delighted to receive the Inclusivity Award from Table Tennis England at last year’s Pride of Table Tennis Awards.
“To have our initiative, Care To Play, recognised at such a prestigious national event really helped validate the work we were doing and gave us a platform to engage even more people across the UK – sharing the benefits of table tennis within social care, far and wide.
“We would definitely encourage others to nominate this year. It’s really rewarding just to be amongst the shortlist, and it can open up so many opportunities to share your achievements, meet new people and celebrate innovation across the sport.”
Do you know an inspirational person or organisation who is worthy of a Pride of Table Tennis award? If so, now is the time to nominate them!
Nominations close at 11:59pm on Sunday 20th November.
